Vicente Fernández represented the more humane side of ranchera narratives at the Pepsi Center last week. Photos and text by Julio Enriquez. The tour should have been titled, “Opposites Attract Tour” (sorry Paula Abdul), where Paquita la del Barrio is the original he-man hate-monger that had her style copped by Miss Alanis Morissette many moons ago, and Vicente Fernández is the antithesis in which his lyrics are pro-women.
