Listen: Tame Impala shares “‘Cause I’m a Man,” announces new album, “Currents”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyEB2AEqHxc After sharing its first new track last month, Tame Impala has released another new song, "'Cause I'm a Man", and officially announced the new album, "Currents." I take it Tame Impala has been listening to some Prince lately, given the downtempo bedroom feel of the funky new track, "'Cause I'm a Man." In March, Tame Impala shared a totally different side of the album with “Let It Happen,” a trippy and largely instrumental track that runs for nearly eight minutes.

Tame Impala accused of stealing “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards”

http://youtu.be/b0M901BgWqM A Chilean news site is accusing Australian psych-rock band Tame Impala of plagiarizing "Océano" from the Argentinan singer Pablo Ruiz. And it's not an obscure Tame Impala song that sounds eerily close to this 25-year-old pop song, it's their biggest hit at the moment: "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards." The song is the second single from the band's 2012 LP "Lonerism." The album, and in particular "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards," has gained Tame Impala critical and commercial success.

Tame Impala bassist Nick Allbrook leaves band

Australian psych revival group Tame Impala will no longer be playing with bassist Nick Allbrook. A statement on the band's web site, dated May 18, reads: "Nick Roland Paisley Adams Allbrook is hopping off the Tame Impala band wagon so that he can try and screw his head back on, and make an attempt to assimilate back into society." "A task the rest of us fear we will one day have to perform," it adds.
