Few things bring me back to my college days like the snarky, beautiful noise-pop of Pavement. Their records will forever remind me of late night BBQs with a pair of speakers crammed into a window so everyone within 100 yards could hear the album “Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain.” Or the mornings after, when whomever happened to crash on our floor was forcefully awakened by the salving acoustic guitar intro of “Wowee Zowee.” It was ritual. News: Pavement to play Broomfield's 1stBank Center in September

The year’s most awaited reunion concert is coming to Denver — err, Broomfield. Colorado-based Pavement fans planning trips to Sasquatch, Coachella or New York City to see their favorite band can hold off on buying their plane tickets. Pavement, which reunited to play a string of big-scale shows, is coming to Colorado, The Denver Post has learned. Stephen Malkmus’ reunited indie darlings will play in September at the 1stBank Center, formerly the Odeum (and the Broomfield Event Center before that).
