Railroad Earth

Railroad Earth bring Nershi along for top shelf make-up show (night one)

Railroad Earth was forced to postpone last month’s show due to an illness, so when they rolled into the first of a two-night stint at The Fillmore Auditorium on Friday, it was clear fans were ready to start “chasin a rainbow.” Opening with “Happy Song,” the band quickly led fans into “420” and “Storms.” The breath and depth the band explores in every song makes it impossible to classify their sound as bluegrass, newgrass or some kind of funk infused awesomeness.

The Boulder Theater undulated with sound and gyrating bodies on Thursday evening as Railroad Earth took the stage, playing to a packed house. Throngs swarmed the Boulder Theater for this show, originally promised as part of a package deal along with the band's Red Rocks date with Umphrey's McGee on Friday.
