The American Music Awards carry about the same weight as the Teen Choice Awards. It's a night where we consistantly find ourselves asking: "Is he/she still famous?" and "People actually like Pitbull?" (We're looking at you, Lorde) Regardless, there are a handful of good performances hidden among some of the mess, and this year Lorde, Sam Smith, Taylor Swift and others provided some good entertainment.

To celebrate the launch of BBC Music, Dave Grohl, Lorde, Elton John, Pharrell, Brian Wilson himself and many more team up to sing Beach Boys' "God Only Knows." As the Guardian reports, BBC Music is “an ambitious wave of new programmes, innovative partnerships and ground-breaking music initiatives that amount to the BBC’s strongest commitment to music in 30 years.” Other contributors to the 1966 classic are One Direction, Stevie Wonder, Jake Bugg, Emeli Sandé, Chris Martin, Kylie Minogue, Paloma Faith, Sam Smith, Florence Welch, Chrissie Hynde, Brian May, Alison Balsom, Martin James Bartlett, Danielle de Niese, Nicola Benedetti, Eliza Carthy, Baaba Maal, Jamie Cullum, Jaz Dhami.
