Watch: Alicia Keys, Kendrick Lamar play “It’s On Again” on the “Tonight Show”

You would've thought it was the Grammys with the amount of star power on "the Tonight Show" stage on Friday. The piano prodigy, Alicia Keys, appeared with Compton's hottest export, Kendrick Lamar, with an assist by ex-Smiths axeman, Johnny Marr, movie composer extraordinaire, Hans Zimmer and producer Araabmuzik to all tag team "It's On Again." The track is taken from presumed summer blockbuster, "The Amazing Spiderman 2." The masterful performance had K Dot introducing Keys with a fury of a thousand punches and reppin' the West Coast with his signature Dodgers flat billed hat.

Here's proof that some major collaborations don't need to happen. Kendrick Lamar and Alicia Keys have teamed up for "It's on Again" from the "Amazing Spiderman 2" soundtrack, and it's certainly no "Empire State of Mind." Built on deep piano notes and guitar riffs, the Pharrell-produced song down-plays Keys' strained vocals.

New Kendrick Lamar album has a release date

With Grammy Award snubs behind him, Kendrick Lamar and his fans can finally set a date for the rapper's follow-up to "Good Kid, M.A.A.D City." In a Billboard feature on Schoolboy Q, Top Dawg Entertainment's Anthony Tiffith lets it slip that a new Lamar album is planned for September.
