Dead & Company announce webcast for Folsom Field shows

The drive from Denver to Boulder via I-36 is daunting for some folks, especially during rush hour. Couple in several thousand fans trekking in the name of Jerry Garcia and you have the makings of a disastrous long, strange trip, particularly when trying to attend the first concert at Folsom Field since the 2001.

One thing you can say about the musicians in Furthur: They still take some chances in their live shows. It doesn't always work, but at least it's not always the same old, even if guitarist John Kadlecik is, for the most part, hitting the Jerry Garcia guitar tone in his best tribute style and the band is getting closer to original Grateful Dead than any of the many offshoots have since Garcia's death.

Live review: The Motet @ the Boulder Theater

There is one thing Boulder and Denver jam fans all seem to agree on--The Motet knows how to throw a Halloween party. For almost a decade, the star-studded ensemble assembled by drummer Dave Watts has been selling out some of the largest theaters in the Front Range by religiously funking out the catalogue of a new legend each year on the promiscuous holiday.
