Your guide to Denver’s 4/20 concerts

Denver is thick with concerts on any given week, but 4/20 has become an unofficial show holiday. From reggae to jam to indie to whatever it is the Kottonmouth Kings play, the city will be overrun with music the week of stoner Christmas 2016.

Railroad Earth bring Nershi along for top shelf make-up show (night one)

Railroad Earth was forced to postpone last month’s show due to an illness, so when they rolled into the first of a two-night stint at The Fillmore Auditorium on Friday, it was clear fans were ready to start “chasin a rainbow.” Opening with “Happy Song,” the band quickly led fans into “420” and “Storms.” The breath and depth the band explores in every song makes it impossible to classify their sound as bluegrass, newgrass or some kind of funk infused awesomeness.

If there’s one thing that’s stable about Megadeth, it’s their instability. Founded, fronted and fueled by the legendarily erratic Dave Mustaine, this is the 10th incarnation of the thrash metal icons, this time including long-time bassist Dave Ellefson (who returned in 2010 after a six-year hiatus), drummer Chris Adler (on loan from Lamb of God) and Brazilian guitar wizard Kiko Loureiro (formerly of Angra).
