Tim McGraw, who last year visited Comfort Dental Amphitheatre to the same packed, adoring cowboy and cowgirl hat-wearing crowd, took a slightly different approach to opening his concert, entering from the side and wading through the audience, touching hands and weaving to a stage — in the middle of the venue — no larger than a standard table top.

Hair stylist Andrea Beck was in the fourth row, center, for the Goo Goo Dolls at Red Rocks on Tuesday night because guitarist Robby Takac had come into Floyd’s 99 Barbershop on Champa Street earlier in the day to get his signature black, floppy bangs a little… floppier.

Now that the dust has cleared and tents have been taken down, we can look back with some clarity on the smaller-than-anticipated (but still relatively big) event that was the second annual Mile High Music Festival, which took place Saturday and Sunday on the soccer fields surrounding Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City.
