Anvil at the Marquis Theater, 4-30-14 (photos)

Anvil's lengthy 36-year-run brought the metal act to Denver's Marquis Theater on Wednesday. Known for, the 2008 documentary "Anvil! The Story of Anvil," the band is defined by "seemingly endless years of energy-sapping tours." In Denver, the lovable Canadian tiro played a blistering set.

Slightly Stoopid, Mac Miller and El Mariachi Bronx kicked off 4/20 festivities on April 19 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. One of many weed-inspired concerts on 4/20-eve, the night led into a weekend-long celebration at the 4/20 Rally in Civic Center, the Cannabis Cup, a small festival at Cervantes' Masterpiece Ballroom and finally the grand finale of Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa at Red Rocks.

With stage diving, sweat and moshing, the Black Lips tore once again through Denver during a packed show at the Bluebird Theater on Wednesday. The Atlanta garage-rock band is touring in support of its recently released album "Underneath the Rainbow." But the recorded product hardly does the band justice.
