Mile Marker

Mile Marker: Cowboy and Indian

The Cowboy and Indian crew rolled into Uneven Studio on a sunny Saturday afternoon in early April. They had just driven in straight north from Albuquerque and were a bit road-weary, and at first anxious to squeeze in this Mile Marker before their soundcheck at Bender's Tavern that night.

Mile Marker: State Radio

The State Radio crew rolled into Denver after more than 60 hours on the road. They had driven in from Boston (straight) and were more than happy to jump off the bus and stretch their legs.

Mile Marker: Say Hi

Eric Elbogen and his touring version of Say Hi rolled into Uneven Studio on a dark Saturday night last February. The band's fatigue was evident from the moment they trudged into the studio, but luckily dissipated as soon as tape started rolling.

Mile Marker: Nellie McKay

We were thrilled to have the ever-eccentric Nellie McKay come through Uneven Studio on a cold February afternoon. She had just driven down from Boulder after a Valentine's Day eTown performance at the Boulder Theater the night before.

Mile Marker: Apex Manor

We were excited to bring the SoCal rock of Apex Manor into Uneven Studio on a snowy weekday afternoon this past February. The band had a few hours to kill before their show at the Hi-Dive that night, and this three-song session was a breeze.

Mile Marker: Vusi Mahlasela

Vusi Mahlasela came through Uneven Studio on a snowy Saturday afternoon in January. He was on tour with Amos Lee and was nice enough to swing by before heading to the Boulder Theater that night for a sold-out show.

Mile Marker: Rooftop Vigilantes

We first saw Rooftop Vigilantes at the Scion GarageFest in Kansas last fall. The Lawrence-based quartet was the first act on the festival bill and played to a half-empty Liberty Hall in the early afternoon hours as road-trippers were still filing into the quiet college town.
