Billed as a Lifted and Legal 420 celebration, the Motet brought a loving end to a day brazenly celebrated by so many in Denver.

Capping off a five-night Colorado run that included stops in Aspen and Fort Collins, Lotus played three sold out shows at the Boulder Theater over the weekend.

Friday at the Boulder Theater, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe threw one of the funkiest dance parties of the year thus far. Though a Further show in Broomfield and fresh snow in the mountains kept the show from selling out like the last time Karl was in town, the theater was nonetheless alive with energy from start to finish.

Fresh off of Mayan Holidaze, an exclusive Mexican getaway with fellow jammers Umphrey’s McGee and The Disco Biscuits, STS9 returned to Colorado on Sunday for the second of three New Year’s performances at the Fillmore Auditorium, dubbed “Time Within Evolving Living Vehicle Earth.”

In the erupting world of electronic dance music, sensory overload sells. Saturday night at the Fillmore Auditorium, EOTO got the message. The peculiar livetronica brainchild of the String Cheese Incident’s percussion section, Michael Travis and Jason Hann pushed the limits of the venue’s sound system while bombarding an amped crowd with lasers, balloons, and their signature 3D mapping Lotus flower stage production.

Ending well past 1 a.m. at the Fox Theatre, Papadosio’s extensive performance Thursday night shows no signs of fatigue from a massive five-month, 50-venue tour. The livetronica act embarked on this tour support of their new double album, “T.E.T.I.O.S (To End the Illusion of Separation)” — an album two-and-a-half years in the making.
