Listen: Usher’s Pharrell-produced new song, “She Came to Give it to You,” feat. Nicki MinajBy Stephanie March | July 8th, 2014 | No Comments »
Known hit-maker, Pharrell, is at it again on the new Usher track, “She Came to Give it to You.” With a stomping beat, bongos and a strong bass line, the Pharrell-produced track rides nicely under Usher’s confident vocals, and a sassy feature from Nicki Minaj.
Usher premiered the new song Tuesday on Chicago’s WGCI 107.5’s morning show and confirmed that this track will indeed appear on his untitled eighth album.
Usher’s recent releases “Good Kisser” and the stripper-focused “I Don’t Mind” both had the same smooth, sexy Usher style, but this new single mixes it up with a more in your face, classic R&B flavor.
The song also marks Usher’s second collaboration with Minaj, who climbs through the beats with safe-sex metaphors and boasts about taking over the worlds’ clubs.
He recently told Fader in a SXSW interview that his upcoming album (to be released in September) is “Gonna be freaking out of here, man, space and sky, that’s what it’ll be. You look up, and it’s everything you can imagine.”
