The UMS makes third 2014 lineup announcement

Allow us to introduce 236 more artists who have been added to the UMS next month. Our friends over at the Underground Music Showcase have shared a third batch of local and national acts on the 2014 lineup, which now includes Tanlines, Psychic Rites, Whiskey Shivers, the Griswolds, Native Daughters, Reno Divorce, Covenhoven, Wild High, the Blue Rider and more. They join previously announced acts Blonde Redhead, People Under the Stairs, Real Estate, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Baths, the Men, Cayucas, Roadkill Ghost Choir, Gardens & Villa and others.

As of now, the grand total of acts announced stands at 351. With more artists to be revealed in the coming weeks, the full Underground Music Showcase lineup will bring more than 400 local and national acts to South Broadway on July 24-27.

The UMS 2014 tickets are available here.

See the new additions to the UMS 2014 lineup below and listen to a couple selected tracks. In case you missed it, check out the first lineup announcement here and the second announcement here.

Tanlines

You’re probably still humming a few tracks from Brooklyn synth-pop duo Tanlines’ 2012 debut album “Mixed Emotions.” The bouncing, unbelievably catchy record was one of the best albums of that year. Since then, the brothers have been living the festival life, playing Coachella last year and Governors Ball, FYF Fest and the UMS this year.

The Griswolds

We got to know our favorite Sydney indie-rock band at SXSW this year. Along with performing at Reverb’s SXSW showcase, the band made many critic’s highlight lists from the week. The four guys and their music pops with personality, a fun-loving mix of clean vocals and sing-along hooks.

Covenhoven

Since emerging in the Denver scene last year, Covenhoven has become our go-to choice whenever we’re trying to explain to someone what the “Colorado sound” is. Covenhoven’s Joel Van Horne — like Denver favorite, Nathaniel Rateliff — is the rugged outdoorsman with a soft side for powerful melodies. Take a listen to his track “Young at Heart” heart above and then go for a hike.
