Will Kanye West release a three-hour spoken word album?By Ru Johnson | April 29th, 2014 | No Comments »
The short answer is “we hope not.” But here’s the long version: Kanye West likes to push boundaries with his artistry as well as his ego. To that end, it’s no surprise the hothead is reported to be prepping a three-hour spoken word album, according to Complex Music. The recording will be released on vinyl and will cover such subject matter as Kim Kardashian, their daughter North and the environment.
While all reports are purely conjecture at this point, we do know Yeezy is slated to release new music as a follow-up to 2013’s “Yeezus.” A source goes on to say West is hoping to win a Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album, joining the ranks of Barack Obama for winning in this category.
While it does sound a bit far-fetched, it’s hard to expect anything “normal” from Kanye West these days. Perhaps we can look for a one-man play or a world-touring art exhibit of Kanye West-painted self portraits. Okay, we’ll stop giving him ideas…
Meanwhile, the Vogue cover featuring Yeezy and his fiancee’ Kim Kardashian is on track to break distribution records, selling more than 500,000 copies.
