Here are the Colorado tickets going on sale — the Avett Brothers, Morrissey and more.
The Avett Brothers are undoubtedly a popular act, but their upcoming Red Rocks Amphitheatre shows grant them a distinction few non-jam bands have ever enjoyed: a three-day run at one of the world’s best concert venues. Each night features a different opener, including Bob Weir & Rat Dog (July 11), Lucero (July 12) and Shovels and Rope (July 13). Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 21. ($49.95 – $59.95, axs.com)
The Red Rocks announcements continued this week with several acts not normally associated with the 9,500-seat outdoor venue: The Let It Ride Tour, featuring Brantley Gilbert, Thomas Rhett and Eric Paslay, will play there May 18 ($24.75-$37), followed by Railroad Earth with Greensky Bluegrass and the Wood Brothers on Aug. 2 ($38.50-$45) and Flux Pavilion on Sept. 12 ($39.50-$200). All tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 21, except for Railroad Earth, which is on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 22. (axs.com)
The July 5 Umphrey’s McGee show at Red Rocks, with the Motet and Moon Taxi, will follow the band’s smaller July 4 concert at the Boulder Theater set. Get Red Rocks passes ($39.50-$45) or passes for both shows ($45-$50) starting at 10 a.m. Feb 28. via Ticketmaster.
Oh, Morrissey, can this really be true? Are you finally returning to Denver? The mercurial British vocalist, who’s set to release his first new album in five years, has set a May 17 concert for the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. But after a series of cancellations and postponements, it’s fair to wonder if all the same fans will be there supporting him.
Tickets for the show with Kristeen Young are on sale. ($44.50-$79.50, Ticketmaster)
Nineties singer-songwriter and piano goddess Tori Amos hasn’t toured much lately, but the May 13 release of new album “Unrepentant Geraldines” is as good excuse as any to hit the road. Amos plays the Paramount Theatre on July 27, with tickets on sale at 10 a.m. March 7. (39.50-$75, altitudetickets.com)
Christian rock band Needtobreathe will headline the Fillmore Auditorium on May 14 as part of the first leg of its North American tour. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 21. ($27.50-$30)
