Umphrey’s McGee returns to headline Red Rocks this summer

For the fifth year, Umphrey’s McGee will return to headline Red Rocks Amphitheatre this summer. The jam-fusion band will be joined by Colorado’s the Motet and Moon Taxi.

Umphrey’s McGee will play at the mountain venue on July 5, with a show at the Boulder Theater on July 4.

To close out 2013, Umphrey’s McGee went on a three-night Colorado run, which included a New Year’s Eve show and an intimate night at the newly-renovated 1up-Colfax. The $200-per-head show at the 1Up acted as a kick off to the arcade-bar’s new venue space.

The Umphrey’s McGee show continues what is shaping-up to be a jam/electronic-heavy summer season at Red Rocks.

Tickets for Red Rocks go on sale Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. and cost $39.50-$45. Tickets for the Boulder Theater show go on sale on Feb. 28 at 10 .m. and cost $45-$50.

Railroad Earth is August 2nd. Never got why a band that sells more tickets in Colorado than many bands, including now Umphrey McGee’s, never get their announcements on the Denver Post page. Does the bad need to buy the Post editors cocaine and hookers?
