Things are starting to pick up this week after the holiday lull/New Year’s Eve hangover. As bands head out on tour and announce albums for 2014 the second half of January is just about to pick up. Topping Reverb’s picks of best Colorado shows this week are Earl Sweatshirt, Robert DeLong and more. We’ll be seeing you there, and if you don’t make it out, follow the music musings on our Twitter @RVRB and our selfies on Instagram @heyreverb.
3) Robert DeLong, Inner Oceans — Larimer Lounge, Jan. 15, $10-$20
You have to appreciate a show that has the words “DID I MAKE YOU F*CKING DANCE?” in bold letters on its poster. If you’ve ever heard Washington producer Robert DeLong, you’ll know that’s what he asks in his breakout single, “Global Concepts,” and that’s eventually what you’ll end up doing. Having released the aptly titled “Just Movement” in 2013, DeLong comes to Denver’s Larimer Lounge on Jan. 15. The bubbly, EDM production in the album is pushed in an indie-pop direction thanks to the Postal Service-esque vocals. DeLong is joined at the Larimer Lounge with local act Inner Oceans, who will be celebrating getting accepted to the SXSW official showcase lineup this week.
