Noel Gallagher hates on Arcade Fire, but loves Kanye WestBy Matt Miller | December 5th, 2013 | 1 Comment »
Noel Gallagher, the always outspoken former Oasis dude, summed up his “dog-shit” 2013 in an interview with Rolling Stone. In the interview, Gallagher hates on Arcade Fire and talks about his love of Kanye West’s “Yeezus.”
Besides loving, like really loving, David Bowie’s new album, Gallagher didn’t listen to much else this year. He didn’t listen to Daft Punk’s new album or “Yeezus” (right away) or Arcade Fire’s “Reflektor.”
When he finally heard West’s “Black Skinhead” at a party, he liked it and got the album, saying “It’s got a great low-fi, punk vibe to it.”
But he didn’t even give Arcade Fire a chance:
“Anybody that comes back with a double album, to me, needs to pry themselves out of their own asshole,” Gallagher told Rolling Stone. “Who has the ****ing time, in 2013, to sit through 45 minutes of a single album? How arrogant are these people to think that you’ve got an hour and a half to listen to a ****ing record?”
