Watch: Arcade Fire, “Afterlife” video

After debuting a live music video for “Afterlife” at the YouTube Music Awards, Arcade Fire has shared a second film for the track. A seven-plus minute cinematic short directed by Emily Kai Bock, the “Afterlife” video follows a boy who leaves his home against his father’s will.

Panning between a black-and-white dream sequence on a construction site and the boy wandering through a party in an ominous red hoodie, it’s a tasteful piece, although unexpected. The video was premiered and produced by the Creators Project — a partnership between Intel and Vice. The Creators Project also made Broken Bells’ new short film for “After the Disco.”

Arcade Fire also shared two videos for the title track for the new album “Reflektor.” One was an impressive interactive video that had the user control the effects using a tablet or mobile device.
