3) Empire of the Sun — Oct. 29, Ogden Theatre, sold out

With feathery hats, elaborate beaded tunics and capes, Empire of the Sun performs live as if it were some sort of space-age nomadic clan. If that’s not enough, the group is known to bring along intricate stage setups and dancers wrapped up in a blinding light show. The Australian electronic band has started to gain a large following in the U.S., thanks in part to its wild live shows and catchy, pop-funk music. Empire of the Sun is touring in support of its summer 2013 release “Ice on the Dune,” so it’s safe to presume there will be plenty of blues and whites and fur worked into the Oct. 29 show at the Ogden Theatre.
