Denver got a pleasant surprise this summer during a house party at the Underground Music Showcase when indie-pop band Tennis announced it would be moving back to Colorado. For the better part of 2013, the band had moved to Nashville to find an “old country” sound for its third album.
News from the band continues, as Tennis has shared a new song, “Mean Streets,” announced a fall tour and a new EP called “Small Sound,” due out on Nov. 5 on their new label, Communion.
The tour includes a number of dates in New York, Canada and Chicago and wraps up at Denver’s Bluebird Theater on Nov. 29.
“Mean Streets,” the grooving and soulful new track from Tennis, is streaming over at Stereogum. The track was produced by Richard Swift, who has worked with the Shins and Foxygen.
