To witness FIDLAR‘s debauchery is to relive those high school parties and your own endless youthful angst. And in its videos, FIDLAR personifies this time, this place, this feeling in ways you might not expect, through sandboarding Grim Reapers, heists, ’90s nostalgia, murderous motorcyclists and most importantly Ron Swanson.
For a band with one album that came out this year, FIDLAR has a huge music video library, and for good reason. The band makes some of the most hilarious and self-assured videos you’ll find on YouTube. At a little more than 2 minutes each and set to the band’s ADD-style of SoCal punk, you’ll find yourself giving these videos repeated views.
FIDLAR performs at Denver’s Larimer Lounge on Sept. 26.

Probably one of the more artistically shot of FIDLAR’s many videos, “Oh” actually has a twist ending, well, really an ending that just doesn’t make sense. The video starts out with a fairly normal “Reservoir Dogs”-style murder/heist, but then in two and a half minutes turns into aliens and laser battles.
4) “Wake Bake Skate”
FIDLAR’s video for “Wake Bake Skate” doesn’t really show any of the activities mentioned in the track name. Instead, it shows some soldier-types and the Grim Reaper sandboarding on some dunes, in what the video implies is the Middle East somewhere, though likely not.
3) “No Waves”
Ah the nostalgia of VHS and ’90s kids shows — FIDLAR puts it all together in the video for “No Waves.” In the very FIDLAR fashion, it shows drinking, partying and mayhem, but complete with D.A.R.E. t-shirts, tie dye, scratchy video and a more punked-out “Clerks” vibe.
2) “Cheap Beer”
Complete with Coors hand tattoos, this grizzled, badass motorcycle guy drives around and punishes people drinking nice beer. This is two minuets of exactly what you would hope for, and it even manages to make craft beer look pretentious and wimpy.
1) “Cocaine” feat. Nick Offerman
It’s hard to imagine a video any more perfect than this: Ron Swanson AKA Nick Offerman getting drunk on 40 oz beer, peeing all over L.A. — and all set to a FIDLAR song called “Cocaine.” Go ahead, try to think up a more hilarious situation. This video is a little (well a lot) NSFW, especially at the end when the FIDLAR brand censor bars disappear. We actually talked to Offerman about the video, and he told us that, “I like to have fun and if I can spray urine all over the place while doing it, so much better. Isn’t that known otherwise as ‘the human condition’?”
