Gauntlet Hair breakup: Band comes to an end after second album - Reverb

Gauntlet Hair breaks up after second album on Dead Oceans

Shortly after releasing its second album, former Denver band Gauntlet Hair has broken up, according to its Facebook and Twitter.

“Gauntlet Hair has reached its end. Thank you all for your support these past 4 years. Love, Andy & Craig,” a status on the band’s Facebook said on Sunday afternoon.

Gauntlet Hair released its second album, “Stills,” in July on Dead Oceans. The band lived in Denver up until 2011 when it moved to Chicago. While in Denver, the band released its self-titled debut album, which gained national attention.

In an interview with Reverb last month a downtrodden Andy Rauworth talked about missing the Denver music scene: “We actually haven’t played at all in Chicago, not even once since we’ve been here. This (Gauntlet Hair’s upcoming Chicago show) will actually be our first gig since we’ve been back. It’s been a lot of down time and rearranging our lives and getting some things straightened out.”
