Watch the Lumineers on “The Colbert Report”

Big news. The Lumineers performed before a national audience Monday night without performing “Ho Hey.” That’s right, and it’s something that hasn’t been done in recent memory. The band appeared on “The Colbert Report,” for a performance and an interview in which Colbert compared drummer Jeremiah Fraites’ name to a possible character in a Steinbeck novel. The Meadowlark veterans calmly and assertively went through their latest FM hit, “Stubborn Love,” and the very catchy, “Submarines.”

Now, Lumineers fans might ask, “what could possibly be better than the debut album from Denver’s own neo-folk foot stompers?” A deluxe version of the debut with a live take, Talking Heads cover and an accompanying DVD to be released Aug. 20.

The bad news for such fans is tickets to both of the Lumineers headlining shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Sept. 14-15) have sold out.
