New Order is in the midst of a small(ish) North American tour that will take the Manchester band to Chicago to headline Lollapalooza. For fans that were born after the glorious ’80s heyday, ’tis a treat indeed to see hits like “Love Vigilantes” and “Regret” being played on national television — even though the iconic rockers are touring without the soul of the group, bassist Peter Hook. New Order performed the songs on Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, which you can watch below.
Even after all of these years, Bernard Sumner’s voice sounds as crisp as it did when the aging musician was crooning “Everything’s Gone Green” and drummer Stephen Morris sounded as ferocious as ever behind the towering drum set. New Order is touring behind its latest effort “Lost Sirens” that was released at the beginning of 2013. Here’s to hoping that Hooky and Bernie bury the hatchet before it’s too late.
