Cults announces new album “Static” days after playing UMSBy Matt Miller | July 25th, 2013 | No Comments »
A few days after headlining The Denver Post’s Underground Music Showcase, Cults has announced a new album called “Static.” The bubbly indie pop duo’s sophomore album will be released on Oct. 15 on Columbia. Following the release of its self-titled debut, the band kept things low-key with only a few tour dates this year, including UMS, Bonnaroo and Boston Calling.
For anyone at UMS, this news shouldn’t be a complete surprise, since the band announced at their Saturday headlining slot that they were finished with the new album.
Watch the teaser for the new Cults album below, which features a clip from a track that sounds much bigger than fans might have expected.
Other Cults tour dates:
07-26 Chicago, IL – Subterranean
07-27 Chicago, IL – Wicker Park Fest
07-28 Seattle, WA – Capitol Hill Block Party
09-07 Dallas, TX – Untapped Festival
09-08 Sacramento, CA – Launch Festival 2013
