Arcade Fire tweets new album release dateBy Dylan Owens | July 12th, 2013 | No Comments »
Today seems to be the day for Twitter-announced album details.
First, Earl Sweatshirt tweeted details of his long awaited LP, “Doris,” out of the blue. And now, Arcade Fire have shared the release date for their followup to 2010’s “The Suburbs” on the social media site just as randomly.
After a fan tweeted them “you’re my favorite,” the band replied in turn with the news: “Thanks. Our new album will be out October 29th.” Along with the announcement, the band linked to a picture of what appears to be the Montreal Biosphère in flames and red-hued cut-outs of the band members, possible stylistic cues for the album. Check out the tweet and pictures in question here.
Details about the upcoming album have been otherwise scarce, though James Murphy has been confirmed as a producer on the project and seems to like it.
