Watch: Ice Cube, the Roots perform “It Was a Good Day” on Jimmy Fallon

On Wednesday’s episode of “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,” Ice Cube performed his classic anthem, “It Was a Good Day,” backed by the Roots. Cube’s voice is as searing as ever as he knocked down the clean version of his verses with precision, inserting shout outs to ?uestLove along the way.

Jimmy Fallon even gets a mention when Ice Cube used the host’s name instead of his own for the line about the Good Year Blimp. An already great song, “It Was a Good Day” gets a boost in this live version with the Roots emphasizing the Isley Brothers’ sample.

Ice Cube is arguably one of the greatest rappers to pick up a microphone, and most certainly one of the most influential artists to represent the west coast. Cube is currently touring with De La Soul, LL Cool J and Public Enemy for the Kings of the Mic tour.
