Andrew WK is attempting to drum for 24 hours in a world record attempt.
The drumming spree, which began at 7 p.m. EST Wednesday, June 19 and will hopefully conclude successfully Thursday evening, is an attempt at the longest drum session held in a retail store.
With the help of Marky Ramone and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, the Andrew WK drum session is part of Viacom’s O Music Awards 24-hour live-stream special, from the Oakley flagship store in Times Square as a part of “Live Music Day.”
Andrew WK — or someone on his team who isn’t trying to keep the beats going — has been Tweeting updates sporadically,
The hard-partying rocker has also asked the Roots’ Questlove, Billy Joel drummer Liberty DeVitto, Nick Jonas, Zac Hanson and more to help him drum for the day.
