Telluride Bluegrass Festival 2013: Steve Martin & the Steep Canyon Rangers replace Mumford & SonsBy Matt Miller | June 17th, 2013 | No Comments »
Steve Martin & the Steep Canyon Rangers will headline Thursday’s Telluride Bluegrass Festival, replacing Mumford & Sons who canceled last week. On June 13, Mumford & Sons announced they would have to back out of performances at Telluride Bluegrass Festival and Bonnaroo after the band’s bassist Ted Dwane underwent surgery for a blood clot on the surface of his brain.
“No one is more disappointed than the band to not be playing the 40th Telluride Bluegrass, but the group will be supporting their brother on his return home to London to help him make a full recovery,” said a festival news release.
Steve Martin & the Steep Canyon Rangers play at 10 p.m. on Thursday at the festival’s main stage with Edie Brickell.
