In commemoration of his upcoming solo LP, “Wrote a Song for Everyone,” John Fogerty played the last two nights as the music guest for “The Late Show with David Letterman” — one solo and Wednesday night with folk rock folks Dawes.
As the album title suggests, Fogerty’s new LP is a collection of songs from his Creedance Clearwater Revival days, each performed with a different musical guest save for the album’s two original tracks.
On last night’s Letterman, Dawes took up alongside Fogerty for a preview of “Someday Never Comes,” a track that sounds like as much of an influence on Dawes’ sound as any song. Needless to say, they pulled it off with considerable aplomb. Even the typically snarky Letterman was all smiles and compliments.

Dawes will play Northern Colorado’s Mishawaka Theatre on May 24, MeadowGrass on May 26 and Englewood’s Gothic Theatre on May 27.
