Hangout Festival 2013 live stream: Watch the Shins, Tom Petty and more

Though we’ve already seen a few big music festivals like Coachella and Snowball this year, they were sort of seasonal outliers. Now that we’re getting on into May, the music festival season has begun in proper with a little gathering in Gulf Shores, Ala., called the Hangout Festival.

Alabama isn’t as common of a destination as Colorado or California, so it’s understandable if you weren’t willing to eat your vacation days to make the trek down to Hangout Festival 2013. The beaches and bands can wait, right?

But if you can’t, Hangout Festival 2013 is streaming all weekend long via MTV.com. You can check it out below, along with the schedule.

Lineup-wise, the Hangout Festival is making a case for consideration as a mini Bonnaroo. Like that unholiest of holy festivals, the bill is all over the place, with everyone from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to Macklemore, Wolfgang Gartner to moe. and all the way back again. As an added bonus, Baauer will be there. You know what that means.
