Two of the bands here in Colorado this week show different generations of indie-pop. Vampire Weekend who’s just hitting its most mainstream stride plays Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Monday. Then the next day, Yo La Tengo who has stayed consistent since the mid ’80s plays in Boulder. Along with these two young and old indie treasures, we have some electronic music and some downright rock in our picks of Colorado’s best shows this week.
4) Black Rebel Motorcycle Club — Monday, Gothic Theatre, $25-$30
To be part of the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club you first need to look the part — black sunglasses, jeans and leather will do the trick. As moody as you’d expect someone dressed like this to be, BRMC wears its persona well and has done so religiously since the early 2000s. In support of its March release, “Specter at the Feast,” the California rock band plays at the Gothic Theatre on Monday.
