Second UMS 2013 lineup announcement: Lord Huron, Small Black, Hockey and hundreds of local acts

With about three months to go until UMS 2013, event organizers have tipped us off to another group of acts added to the lineup, which comes in video form. In about 7 minutes of Bob Dylan-inspired video, members of the local music scene reveal about 350 more artists playing the 2013 showcase.

As usual, the UMS 2013 lineup consists of a mix of local and national acts. Nationals announced today include Lord Huron, Small Black, Hockey, FAT TONY, Brothertiger, Rogue Vogue, S U R V I V E and more. Then of course our Denver locals such as A. Tom CollinsEsme PattersonSnake Rattle Rattle Snake and hundreds more.

The lineup is topped by Cults, Mudhoney, Born in the Flood, Bleachedthe Fresh & Onlys and Baywood whom UMS announced last month.

“We are incredibly excited for the 13th UMS. Today’s lineup release represents a compelling mix of local and national talent — solid evidence that the music scene in this region is thriving.  While this announcement includes almost 350 acts, we still have more to come,” said UMS Executive Director Kendall Smith.

These upcoming additions include music, comedy and spoken word performances, according to Smith.

This year the annual music showcase takes place from July 18-21 in all your favorite south Broadway haunts. Tickets for UMS 2013 are on sale now and cost $35 for a four-day wristband, which are available here.

Is Dressy Bessy not considered a Denver act anymore?

I think they’ve earned the “national” moniker; assuming of course one thinks of that as a positive thing. Bands like them & Apples In Stereo have done Denver proud! Though yeah, it is kind of hard to define them as purely national. Quandry-time, I guess.

I hope no one got a papercut!
