Pretty Lights, Talib Kweli to play Red Rocks in AugustBy Matt Miller | April 24th, 2013 | No Comments »
The two did collaborate on the new single “Around the Block,” so it shouldn’t be too surprising to see Pretty Lights and Talib Kweli on the same bill. Though, it’s nothing new for an electronic artist and a rapper work together, it’s definitely an exciting match up, especially when we were into the track from the Denver-rooted producer’s upcoming full-length “A Color Map of the Sun.”
Pretty Lights announced on his website that this Colorado run will include two shows from Aug. 16-17 at the mountain amphitheater. The Brooklyn rapper, Kweli, is also no stranger to Colorado, making Denver and Boulder venues some of his regular tour stops. He played Red Rocks in 2009, with his name on a hip-hop lineup with Nas and Busta Rhymes. Pretty Lights makes Red Rocks a regular stop on summer tours, having played the venue for the last few years.
This August show rounds out a summer that includes dates at Bonnaroo, Governors Ball and more.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
