Tattooed, t-shirted and bearded, the band and its fans rock the look proud. But don’t let the long haul trucker look fool you, Lucero is six talented musicians who are masters of a litany of instruments and a deep song catalogue.
“We can’t do them all tonight!,” said front man Ben Nichols as the audience hurled song requests at him between song breaks. “But we got two more nights!”
The band did cater to the crowd’s requests with favorites like “Nights Like These,” “Colorado Girl (Townes Van Zandt cover)” and “Mom.”
Lucero also focused on a good selection of new music on Thursday. The three-night run coincides with the release of the band’s new EP “Texas & Tennessee,” available at the merch table in the back and for download on April 30.
