Outside Lands 2013 lineup: Paul McCartney, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nine Inch Nails and moreBy Ricardo Baca | April 16th, 2013 | No Comments »
The full Outside Lands 2013 lineup was announced Tuesday morning, and the San Francisco event already looks to be one of the Top 3 festival lineups of 2013 — not bad for a festival that is just turning five years old.
Individually the headliners are a solid group, but when taken together, they create a level of excitement that hasn’t been seen with many other festival lineups this year.
The Outside Lands 2013 headliners are Paul McCartney, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nine Inch Nails, and some of the bigger supporters have headlined other festivals this year: Phoenix, Kaskade, Vampire Weekend, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Colorado-rooted DJ/producer Pretty Lights.
The Outside Lands 2013 lineup doesn’t stop there either. And what about D’Angelo, the mid-’90s R&B star who has made a slow, methodical comeback in the last year? And Wild Belle, the dub-obsessed indie rockers who won our hearts at South by Southwest? And Milo Greene, the melodic pop group that makes prettier music than most people calling themselves “indie folk” these days? And Willie Nelson & Family, featuring the legendary patriarch and (most likely) his multiple children who are currently paying their dues in rock clubs across the United States?
The 2013 Outside Lands Festival will take over its own special slice of Golden Gate Park on Aug. 9-11. Tickets will go on sale at noon Thursday at noon PDT at sfoutsidelands.com.
