Los Angeles producer Flying Lotus debuted a fun and funky new track on the Cartoon Network series “Adventure Time” earlier this week. And just because he’s a nice guy, he tweeted a link to download the entire episode.
The song, “About that time//A glitch is a glitch,” features smooth Moog keys, bubbly percussion and layers of rapid, automated synths. At 1:48, it’s short, but more than enough to cap another adventure for Jake and Finn. Listen to the track below.
Flying Lotus is the moniker Steve Ellison has used to produce most of his electronic catalog since signing with Warp Records in 2007. He has since become a major character in not just electronica, but music in general, producing a wide variety of tracks for mostly rap artists and R&B singers. He also runs his own label Brainfeeder, which is gaining attention with critically acclaimed releases from such names as Mr. Oizo, Gonjasufi and Thundercat.
It turns out he’s got a pretty tight flow too, as the world learned late last year that he was the voice behind the mysterious Captain Murphy, who most had chalked up to be Tyler, the Creator based on the similarities between the two.
