Listen: New Third Man Records single with the Alabama Shakes singer - Reverb

Listen to Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes) and Ruby Amanfu’s (Jack White’s “Love Interruption”) new Third Man Records single

It sounds like a fierce, formidable collaboration: Alabama Shakes frontwoman Brittany Howard paired with Jack White’s buddy Ruby Amanfu, who harmonized with the guitarist on his solo hit “Love Interruption.”

Howard and Amanfu will release a single on White’s Third Man Records on March 12, covering Rodriguez’s “I Wonder” (popularized in the Oscar-winning doc “Searching for Sugar Man”) and Memphis Minnie’s “When My Man Comes Home,” the label announced today. Presales are available already, but listen to the B-side take on Memphis Minnie’s song here.

The two women are already known and celebrated for their individual work. Howard’s Alabama Shakes were nominated for a Grammy and continue to dominate on the road, and Amanfu has already been through the major label routine, having landed with White on one of 2012’s most delightful duets.
