French electronic duo Daft Punk kind of debuted new material during last night’s airing of “Saturday Night Live.” And yes,  the italics are necessary;  the clip, which aired during a commercial break,  is only 15 seconds long. Listen a tiny bit of the new Daft Punk song below, then put it on repeat over and over

Despite the short length, the snippet has the hallmark air of a Daft Punk intro riff, with clean production and a leaning toward future-funk.

The group’s follow-up to 2005’s “Human After All” is rumored to be coming out mid-2013.

By that assessment — which gave me a good chuckle — that one second has been repeated 292,365 times today on that lone Youtube video.
