Watch the Avett Brothers perform “Kick Drum Heart” on “Jimmy Fallon”

Who would win in a strum-off between the Avett Brothers versus Mumford and Sons? Who has better facial hair, Marcus Mumford or Seth Avett? I mean, these are the things that kept me up last night while the Avett Brothers made their triumphant return to “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” to perform a medley starting off with an amped up “Kick Drum Heart” and steamrolled right into “Geraldine.” The guys definitely “pile-drived” the crowd into submission last night. Watch the Avett Brothers on “Jimmy Fallon” below.

In case you missed it, the brothers Avett will be making their return to the majestic Red Rocks Amphitheater alongside Portugal. The Man on July 5 and with Old Crow Medicine Show on July 6 as reported by Reverb. The 4th would’ve been perfect, however, Blues Traveler have that date on lock-down. Does anybody know when that deal is over? Shesh, way to hog up the joint, John Popper.

The Avetts are out in support of their latest release, “The Carpenter,” in a tour that takes the guys overseas next month to spread the southern gospel. It’s very likely that Reverb founder Ricardo Baca is the first Colorado Avett convert. The verdict is still out on that one, however, the Baca has logged more than 20 Avett shows. Yes, folks, that is true love.

Mumford and Sons wishes they were in the same league as the Avett Brothers. Those guys sound like Frightened Rabbit had a baby in an abandoned alley and named it Dave Matthews Band Jr.

Wow is all I can say. That is pure adrenaline. Who is better than the Avetts? Great musicians, great live and great lyrics. The Trifecta.
