The new video for Kendrick Lamar’s R&B-styled “Poetic Justice” just debuted on YouTube. The video features some sort of really happening, street-gambling party, Lamar in a shirt that looks like a ’90s rug and Drake pretending to be tough. Watch Kendrick Lamar’s “Poetic Justice” video below.

The Crenshaw Square sign up front indicates our arrival into the world of Lamar’s stellar concept album “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City,” where one is wise to keep their friends close but their “enemigos” closer. The lesson was apparently lost on this video’s protagonist, a stand-in for Lamar, who is gunned down with his companion during a block party. If only Drake had called sooner…

Lamar will be in Colorado on March 8, playing at the first day of the SnowBall Music Festival in Winter Park.
