3) Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, why not?

Petty has already headlined the festival in 2006, but who’s to say he couldn’t come back for more? One blog, called Weeping Elvis claims to have correctly predicted/scooped the Bonnaroo 2012 lineup, and says it has once again predicted Tom Petty. Why should we believe this blog? They don’t really give any particular reason other than rather smug references to Watergate. A number of other blogs seemed to have picked up this rumor and run with it and many of the fake Bonnaroo posters that have already circulated seem confident it will be Petty. With no 2013 dates announced yet, one can never be so certain.

    A few corrections: Mumford & Sons have played two Bonnaroos (2010 and 2011) and Petty headlined in 2006.
