Best Denver shows this week: The Who, Ty Segall and moreBy Matt Miller | February 8th, 2013 | No Comments »
1) Ty Segall, Tuesday, Hi-Dive, $12
Ty Segall has been pumping out music and touring like crazy since 2008, most recently at a mosh pit-filled show at the Gothic Theatre with Thee Oh Sees. His music is loud garage rock, but it’s also charming in the sense that even listened to on headphones at a low volume, you still feel like you’re going deaf. It’s a sound that will make any lover of rock music get a little bit nostalgic. Segall’s hard work in the last few years has paid off with critics and, more important, with his live show. He has perfected a reckless performance at shows that aren’t for the faint of heart — or body. Segall plays the Hi-Dive on Tuesday.
