The Greater Than Social Club debuted Wednesday night at Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret at 16th and Arapahoe in the former D&F Clocktower. This new venture sponsored by Illegal Pete’s is a monthly gathering of one featured comedian and one curated local band each month at a proper, classy adult venue. This month’s host was Andrew Orvedahl. The comic guest was Sean Patton of New Orleans.
The featured band was A. Tom Collins, which next appears at a South-by-Southwest fundraising show on March 9 at Summit Music Hall with You Me & Apollo, the Knew and others. The Greater Than Social Club will convene the first Wednesday of each month. Next up on March 6: Comedian Adam Cayton-Holland, fresh off his appearance on “Conan,” with music by Bad Weather California.
