Watch Local Natives perform “Heavy Feet” on “Jimmy Fallon”By Julio Enriquez | February 6th, 2013 | No Comments »
Frenchkiss Records alums, Local Natives, are riding high on their Aaron Dessner (the National) produced new album, “Hummingbird,” released Jan. 29. You can watch Local Natives perform the track “Heavy Feet” from the album on “Jimmy Fallon” below.
“Hummingbird” as a whole album is consistently more dense than the airy “Gorilla Manor.” Instead of recording the album in their native Echo Park enclave, the guys trudged east to record with the National nob turner in Brooklyn. A proper U.S. tour will take place in mid March starting off Houston (head over here for their full itinerary), but I have a rising suspicion that those of you SXSW attendees will be treated to several performances by the dreamy SoCal act with the close proximity of Houston.
Local Natives opened for Arcade Fire at the 1stBank Center in 2011. You can see pictures of that concert above.
TV fans were treated to the slow simmer of “Heavy Feet” off of the new release last night on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” After watching the inspired performance, I got a hankering desire to peruse eBay for tropical shirts inspired by the mustachioed wonder, “Magnum PI.”
