A new Daft Punk album is on the way after the French duo signed to Columbia Records, according to numerous news outlets.

The details are scattered with The Guardian is reporting that the record’s release is slated for May, while The Hollywood Reporter, who broke the Columbia signing, cited a French newspaper’s report that the record was expected sometime this spring.

Daft Punk  is notoriously secretive when it comes to their movements. The duo’s last proper album was 2005′s “Human After All,” and speculation on the next full-length hasn’t ebbed since. That is, of course, excepting the score they produced for the Disney sequel “Tron: Legacy” in 2010. Sparse and haunting at stretches, the final product was not the dance record some fans were expecting. But there was room for some fun.
