Update: Postal Service reunion rumors fueled by the band’s websiteBy Kelsey Fowler | January 21st, 2013 | No Comments »
UPDATE: Billboard has confirmed that a Postal Service reunion will take place at Coachella.
Earlier this month, rumors of a Postal Service reunion — a project of Ben Gibbard from Death Cab for Cutie, and Jimmy Tamborello of Dntel — were in no short supply. But a recent change to the Postal Service’s website has added new fuel to the fire of a possible 2013 reunion.
The Postal Service collaboration resulted in only one album, 2003’s “Give Up.” The website currently shows only the name of the band, and the current year, 2013. There are no other links, pages, or information, leading some to believe the image indicates an upcoming reunion, which would be a first.
Now, this could simply be in celebration of the 10-year anniversary for the group, as the text is in the same style as the album cover for “Give Up.” But with the Coachella lineup coming up, fans can only hope the rumors are true.
