Savoy releases new EP, kicks off 2013 tourBy Alan Cox | January 18th, 2013 | No Comments »

The four-track EP is fresh from the cauldron of imagination without the remixes or aggressive sampling that was a staple of previous works. Savoy did collaborate with Boulder’s Big Gigantic on “AfterShock,” a bouncy mix of dubstep, percussion and light jazz saxophone, but this record’s key track is “Kidz,” which pulses with menace.
The record’s release preceded Savoy’s Live with Lasers 2013 Tour, which kicked off in Washington, DC this week. Savoy will be covering all corners of the country on tour before wrapping it up in Colorado, with late February dates in Aspen, Fort Collins and Boulder.
Formerly of Boulder, the electro trio moved to Brooklyn in 2010. The group’s loud sweaty style draws on the music of the international club scene, influenced by no one particular artist. Last year was a good one for the band, who outdid its sold-out Colorado performances with sets at Lollapalooza and the Electric Daisy Carnival.
Live with Lasers 2013 tickets are on sale right now on the tour’s website.
